Dr. Maria J. Iuorno graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Cornell University in 1988 with a B.A. degree. She received her M.D. degree from Northwestern University Medical School in 1994 before completing an internal medicine residency at University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital (1996) in Rochester, New York and the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University (1997) in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Iuorno remained at the Medical College of Virginia where she completed a fellowship in Endocrinology in 1999 and later received her Master of Science degree in Biostatistics and Clinical Research from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2005, Dr. Iuorno joined Virginia Diabetes & Endocrinology, P.C. where she specializes in female androgen disorders and disorders of the female reproductive system, specifically Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Outside of work, Dr. Iuorno enjoys music, culinary arts, and spending time with her family.
